Mike Szakos started playing lacrosse in 8th grade, in 1991. Then, Mike played at Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Virginia. Mike was the captain and received local and national awards. Mike then went on to play at the University of California, Santa Barbara(UCSB) and was a 4 year starter. Mike's Freshman year they went to the National Championship and lost to BYU. Mike was captain of the team. Mike has always played ATTACK. Mike scored close to 200 goals in his College Career and got local and national awards. Mike Szakos was inducted into the UCSB lacrosse Hall Of Fame in 2014. At the time, there were only 21 people out of the 40 years of UCSB lacrosse history, in the UCSB Lacrosse Hall Of Fame. Now Mike plays in tournaments for Total Lacrosse and the Los Angeles Bombers. Mike also plays Box lacrosse with the Los Angeles Chiefs. Mike puts on free lacrosse clinics and coaches lacrosse in Ventura, California for kids ages 5-10. Mike loves playing lacrosse, but enjoys coaching lacrosse just as much. Even though Mike is eligible to play in the Masters division, he still plays with the Young Guns!
